CAP Foundation has reached out to 115 communities covering more than 100000 young people in urban, rural and tribal settings in India.
It has received support from USAID
10 Pre-schools have been started covering 300 children of 3-5 years age.
450 school children in the age group of 6-12 years have been mobilised from the project communities and enrolled in 10 non-residential Bridge Schools
Around 200 working and out of school adolescents between 13-18 years were enrolled in the Teen Channel Community Learning centres.
74% of children passed in class X and 98% in class VII (A major achievement for these children)
School improvement programmes have been initiated in 10 government schools
Teacher training programmes have been conducted in understanding the learning styles of children, rationale for activity based teaching, identifying the concepts in which the children need support across all subjects.
24 Child councils have been formed with 30 members each to propagate Child Rights Issues in school as well as at the community level.
Awareness programmes have been organised for the women on safe motherhood in 14 communities.
Awareness programmes have also been conducted for around 600 youth on HIV / AIDS.
